Aaron Gordon Returns After Dog Bite Injury

Nuggets Forward Gets 21 Stitches

Gordon Remains Loyal to Dog

DENVER -- Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon needed 21 stitches after suffering lacerations to his face and right shooting hand while being bitten by his dog on Christmas night.

Gordon returned to practice on Friday and explained the incident, saying that his dog, a rottweiler, bit him while he was trying to break up a fight between the dog and another dog.

Gordon said the injuries were initially given no stitches, but he later went to the hospital and received the stitches.

Gordon is still loyal to his dog even after the scary incident.

"He's my best friend," Gordon said. "I love him."

Gordon is expected to play in the Nuggets' next game on Saturday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
